The controversial introduction of mandatory Wisconsin auto insurance has sparked debate in the state of Wisconsin, prompting many Democrats to defend the decision to introduce changes. According to media reports, Republican lawmakers and critics of the new changes have resorted to distributing leaflets and flyers to residents of the state in hopes of further igniting public protest against the insurance regulations.
Critics say that the Democrats in state legislature are to be blamed for the introduction of mandatory car insurance in Wisconsin. The state is one of only two states not requiring motorists to have proof of insurance.

Some insurance give you a 30 day grace period and then send you a cancellation notice. The notice is usually 10 days before the cancellation date. Very few carriers actually cancel the policy one day after the due date.
In many states, there are strict laws concerning lapsed insurance. In Georgia, if policy is cancelled the Dept. of Motor Vehicles is notfied after 10 days and will be fined. If it is your first offense, just pay your insurer to reinstate your policy. If it is a second offense, the fine is bigger.

Response : A total breakdown is when the vehicle becomes totally immobile and cannot be driven even a short distance to reach a repair shop, thereby necessitating a tow. This can occur for a variety of reasons, including complete engine failure, or a dead starter or battery, though a dead battery may be able to be temporarily resolved with a jump start.
When a total breakdown occurs, the motorist may be able to have the service paid for by a roadside assistance plan.
