What does it mean to be ladylike in the post-feminist age? Whereas it was once considered to be a compliment to be called ladylike, can it nowadays actually be classed as being patronising or insulting even?

When I was learning to drive, my grandmother told me that I should at all times be ladylike behind the wheel.

Protecting Yourself From The High Costs Of Medical Diagnostic Tests

Posted by Kevin Johnson No Comments »
May 07, 2012

Each year, medical patients in the United States pay billions of dollars for various medical tests. Physicians need certain diagnostics to treat their patients, but these diagnostic tests can quickly overwhelm a family’s budget and push up health insurance rates. An MRI can cost anywhere from $1,500 to $2,500 without insurance, depending on the type of MRI and the hospital. Even with insurance, co-payments can climb into the thousands of dollars if an individual needs multiple tests. Fortunately, many patients can avoid high medical diagnostic costs by carefully evaluating their insurance policies and by taking advantage of state child health insurance policies.

Having recently read that driving in flip flops is not very safe and knowing for a fact that suede wedge platform boots do not make the ideal motoring attire for a lady, I thought it might be time to buy some proper driving shoes.

Oh, but, horror of horrors…driving shoes are ugly!

Having googled “specialist car shoes”, I found that they tend to be flat, leather, with grippy soles and, generally, pretty hideous. They remind me of the shoes my ancient music teacher used to wear under her flared ankle-length denim skirts. Yeu

Feb 16, 2012

A commercial vehicle is usually defined as one that is “used primarily for business and commercial purposes.” You will not be able to insure a commercial vehicle with your personal policy because insurance companies establish premiums according to the risk the vehicle carries, and a business vehicle carries greater risk.

Determining whether you need this type of policy should be based on these factors:

  • whether you use the vehicle for business frequently or occasionally,
  • the category of vehicle you use, and
  • the primary driver.

What you should do

Begin by deciding which of the vehicles you own are used mainly for commercial purposes. Sin

The health insurance industry in the state may not have offered certain kinds of coverage due to unreasonable costs or for other reasons. The state steps in and passes laws called consumer protection laws that mandate the employer’s health coverage for employees cover the issue under the policy. If the health insurance company refuses to do so, the state can bar them from selling policies in that state.
